Meanwhile, Park (Charlyne Yi) prepares for her hearing with the Princeton Plainsboro Disciplinary Committee chaired by Foreman (Omar Epps), and Adams’ (Odette Annable) outlook on her patient’s business venture reveals her deeper feelings about loyalty.

Monday, Nov. 7 “The Confession”  A man (guest star Jamie Bamber) well-respected in his community suddenly collapses, and in the process of diagnosing his symptoms, the team discovers that the patient has been hiding dark secrets and lying about his personal and professional life. But when the patient openly confesses his wrongdoings to his family and community, he compromises his chances of receiving the proper medical treatment that could save his life. Meanwhile, Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Taub (Peter Jacobson) rejoin the team, and Taub tries to balance life at the hospital with his responsibilities as a father of two infant daughters from two different mothers.

House, M.D.: Season 7 Drawing to a Close with Four New Episodes

For weeks now, I’ve ruminated upon why some of my friends in the HouseM.D. fandom have become frustrated with the series. Why am I’m still enjoying House’s (the ever-incredible Hugh Laurie) journey, while others have become disenchanted? And still others, who a year ago or more wondered why I was still so intrigued, have rediscovered House, finding it once again enjoyable?

Live Interview tomorrow with “A Book and a Chat”

A Book and a Chat appearing tomorrow evening 6:30 p.m. on “Book and a Chat” from “Across the Pond”  on Blogtalk radio. Should be fun. I’m on for half an hour (and I think they take phone calls, but I’m not certain). I hope you all stop by :)

From “A Book and a Chat”:

To many people from England you mention the name “Hugh Laurie” and they think of the comedian, part of the double act with “Stephen Fry” as must for all the fabulous Black Adder TVseries. In the US however like many other comedians Hugh Laurie has made his name as an actor, being the face of “House MD“.

My guest on today’s show Barbara Barnett knows all about that character. Her book Chasing Zebrasis a comprehensive and (hopefully) thought-provoking look at the hit TVshow House, M.D.

The title of her book comes from an old medial axiom taught to medical students. When you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras—think common, not complex and rare. The television show’s central character is a zebra-chasing physician—he only treats extremely rare diseases.

Full Review of the Dig

We are having site issues this morning and I know you are all anxious to talk about “The Dig.” I’ve posted the review below in full. Please pass the word to the various LJs and forums (and on twitter, facebook, etc.) Thanks :)

First posted on Blogcritics.org

When archeologists work on a dig, they carefully peel back layers of civilizations searching to understand what lay beneath. Along the way, they encounter clues, surprises and the occasional precious gem. House, M.D.’s 150th episode, appropriately called “The Dig” follows several parallel story lines. While the team tries to uncover the background of this week’s patient through his morbidly cluttered home, House (Hugh Laurie in a great peformance) tries to uncover the “why” behind 13’s (Olivia Wilde) six months in prison after pleading down to “excessive prescribing.” And Foreman (Omar Epps) digs for the secret of Taub’s (Peter Jacobson) new lover, who turns out to be none other than…Rachel Taub (Jennifer Crystal Foley).Hugh Laurie and Olivia Wilde

The patient’s wife, it turns out has a genetic disorder, which caused multiple miscarriages. The emotional impact of the miscarriages led to sobsessive hoarding, and the hoarding exposed both her and her husband to an illness. Martha Masters’ (Amber Tamblyn) zeal in treating the couple’s home as an archeological dig where they can piece together the story that’s not being told leads her to the crucial puzzle piece.  Continue Reading →
